I wrote this during my Uni years, on a rainy night. I was hungover.
lyrics
Raindrops patter, my window glistens,
I spin the platter but no one listens,
I work at night, this is my time,
Spend it hoping the sun doesn't rise,
But when the, sun does rise,
It's time to visit the skies on the backs of my eyes
Chasing fireflies through a world I like,
I lay on my back when my body tires,
Looking at the sky, the stars make patterns,
You need to think about what really matters,
I'm not here to pass exams,
When I think of a dull life my expression saddens,
If i do it by the book, it's not gonna work,
I'm about to make a big leap I didn't forget to look,
I feel a big change coming to my days,
I'm coming out of nowhere like a left hook,
The raindrops patter x2
I won't make the mistake of waiting on tomorrow,
I carve my own way, like Zorro,
I never ever ever got time for sorrow,
Otherwise I lose time that I can't borrow,
I can sit on a beat and work on my feet,
Put my foot down and you got a stampede,
I've conditioned stronger than you mentally did,
You're trying with someone who you can't compete with,
Trying to sell your number, they delete it,
Ring me up but I don't cart the speakers,
I've got something I believe it,
You lift me up with your see through weakness,
Music has the power to change how you're feeling,
It speaks louder than political leaders,
There's not many things that take my breath away,
But music sometimes stops my breathing,
